Neuroscientist and winner of a highly competitive fellowship at the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics endorsed by The Royal Society for a Global Talent Visa

The Iranian citizen, Mr Yasser Roudi-Rashtabadi’s work is an interdisciplinary effort in understanding computational principles that underlie neural information processing, how these principles are manifested in the brain and how they can be used for efficient learning in both biological and artificial neural networks.

Over the years, this exceptional scientist has been recognized by national awards from Norwegian Academy of Sciences and the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences. He has also been awarded the Eric Kandel Young Neuroscientists Prize awarded by the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and the Hertie Foundation every two years to one person. He has been the leader of the theoretical and computational neuroscience part of the Centre of Excellence Grant given by the Norwegian Research Council to set up the Centre for Neural Computation which has provided the main source of funding for his research in the past 10 years.

Mr. Roudi-Rashtabadi research is published in the most prestigious journals in theoretical physics and neuroscience, such as Physical Review Letters and PLoS Computational Biology, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Reviews Neuroscience, Annual Reviews of Neuroscience, Neuron, Current Opinion in Neurobiology.

His work has been both highlighted by professional and public news articles. He has lectured at world leading institutes in physics and neuroscience. He has reviewed papers for leading journals such as Nature Physics, Physics Reviews E, Physics Review Letters, PNAS and J Neuroscience, and has organized several international meetings where he has been able to recruit the best ones in his field.
